To Confuse, To Disorient
A collective reading and exhibition invited by Seppe-Hazel Laeremans
Het Paviljoen, Ghent 2024

On May 2024, Seppe-Hazel Laeremans in an attempt to bring together our researches on disorientation, invited me to write a collaborative essay on what it means to be confused by language. Based on a series of correspondences between Porto and Ghent we called this text a con-joined letter to clouds. The text was presented as part of  Seppe-Hazel’s residency at Het Paviljoen Ghent, where we decided to activate it within an installation containing a series of other texts we came across in our researches, two gradient oil on canvas stripes I painted as an embodiment of the concept of ‘in-between’,  a blanket  titled  ‘desnortear-se’, made by Seppe-Hazel, and a video essay from myself, containing our correspondences and a few archival materials from Iranian Armenian history, and hybridity of cultures, and how confusing it could get. The installation/gathering was complete with a reading and Focccia oferings of Fae Felis.
